I Have Taken the Plastiki Pledge! Take the challenge before the Plastiki reaches Sydney

They needed 12,500 bottles to float the Plastiki. Now they are looking for 12,500 pledges to kick off their mission to save the ocean…

Just in time for Earth Day …

Three simple actions will help get rid of 90 percent of the waste currently heading out to sea from land. For the earth, our oceans and the wildlife that inhabits them, that would make a huge difference.

Pledge at www.myplastiki.com to eliminate from your life at least one, or even all three, of the following items:

1. single-use plastic water bottles
2. bags
3. polystyrene foam products.

These small lifestyle changes on your part can have an immediate and direct impact on the health of our planet.

Their goal is to reach 12,500 pledges before the Plastiki reaches Sydney, but with your help they hope to go far beyond that number.

From the Plastiki: Happy Earth Day! Now go hug some trees, they like it.

  1. If you just think about the impact of each thing you throw away, and start with one small thing… it becomes apparant that there may be a next item that you will want to find reusable options on… and so on… just think as we all take these ideas forward, the difference it will make in the world to come!
