(Video) Winner of Sustainable Oscar Dress Design (for Suzie Cameron) Contest!

Jillian Granz won best sustainable oscar dress design for Suzie Amis Cameron’s sustainable global dress contest.  Suzie partnered with Global Green to host the contest.  The proceeds go to an eco-oriented elementary school, Muse, that she started in Los Angeles.  Jillian’s dress will be worn on the red carpet by Suzie Cameron, (wife of Avatar director James Cameron), at the 2010 Academy Awards.

Other Sustainable red carpet folk:  Academy Award nominee Robert Kenner, director of Food, Inc., walked the March 7 event’s red carpet in an organic wool tuxedo made with O-Wool® suiting fabric from Vermont Organic Fiber Company (VTOF). The tuxedo was made exclusively for Mr. Kenner by New York City-based environmentally conscious fashion brand Loomstate. According to Loomstate, this is the first American-crafted organic tuxedo ever to be made for the Academy Awards. VTOF is the nation’s leading provider of Merino wool fabrics made with wool grown and certified to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) national organic program standard.  VERY COOL
