  1. Awesome. One thing I heard from a man who worked for Food For the Hungry in Ethiopia: The young girls who carry water become very strong at a young age, but their caloric needs are not met for proper growth & development. Then when they become pregnant (many in their teens), their pelvic opening is too small, and they have great difficulty delivering a baby. Many lose their babies in childbirth and have an injury called a fistula, which has severe consequences, physically and socially. (Fortunately, there is a Fistula Hospital in Addis Ababa which can help many with surgery, but not all can be corrected).
    So, the consequences of inaccesible water supply goes much further than just the daily work of collecting water. There is also a lot of water-borne disease/bacteria that afflicts them.

    So, this is wonderful what you are doing, for more than just the obvious reasons!!
